Adventist Media Exchange is a digital asset management system set up by the General Conference Communication Department. It is made available to all Adventist entities to use free of charge.

Adventist Media Exchange is the place to find photos with Adventist subject matter.

We encourage you to create an account on Adventist Media Exchange and begin using it for your photos. Over time you will build a searchable library of photos relevant to your work. You do not need an account to browse, search and download. With an account you get the possibility to customize the application. To upload photos to the system you need an account with uploading rights. Learn how to get uploading rights further down.

How to create an account

Go to the URL: https://media.adventistexchange.org

Click the «Log in» link in the upper right hand corner. That will bring up the log in dialogue.

In the lower part of the log in window, there is an option to apply for an account. Fill in necessary details. Make sure you take note of the username the system will send you in an e-mail.

Do not fill in information in the fields Username and Password if you do not already have an account.

Please note that you will receive an e-mail with a username supplied to you by the system. The username will NOT be your e-mail address.

The account will be automatically approved for browsing and download.

To get uploading rights send an e-mail to comhostmaster@gc.adventist.org with your request. Please copy you union communication director.

Free use of all photos on Adventist Media Exchange

All photos on Adventist Media Exchange are licensed under the Creative Commons license Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

This standard license is recognized internationally and gives the user permission to use the image as needed, provided credit is given with the following three elements:

1. Name of the photographer
2. Name of the supplier (Adventist Media Exchange)
3. Name of the license (CC BY-4.0).

By using this system, communicators elsewhere will know where to find the photos to accompany articles from your field, and they will know that they may legally use those photos.

Adventist Media Exchange is a state-of-the-art digital asset management system which every entity of the Seventh-day Adventist Church may use free of charge. There are many benefits from using Adventist Media Exchange. Some of these are:

1. Photos become searchable by using metadata.
2. Photos become available to anyone in original pixel size.
3. Photos become accessible despite personnel changes.
4. Photos become licensed with a recognized license – free to use.
5. Photos become more valuable with info about the photo (who is in the photo, what is the event, who is the photographer).
6. Photos become sharable through direct URLs, reducing the need to send large files.  Like this collection with resources for Creation Sabbath.

AI-generated images

AI-generated illustrations are of great help and we encourage you to contribute your AI-generated images to Adventist Media Exchange. Please note the following as a guide:

1. Use the “Concept Photo/AI” resource type when uploading.
2. Enter the Bible book and chapter in the description for images related to specific chapters of the Bible. E.g.: Revelation 10.
3. Use “AI-generated” as one of the keywords. The term must be chosen from the keyword list in the system.

Adventist Media Exchange is using an Open Source software developed by ResourceSpace.
